Rust removal

Rust removal

Battery acid stains, fertilizer rust spots, irrigation system overspray. Pressure won't lift them. Specific chemistry will. I treat each stain with the right reactive cleaner, then rinse before it touches the surrounding concrete.

Chemistry, not pressure

The right reactive does it.

Rust isn't dirt, it's bonded to the surface chemically. Pressure washing alone just spreads it around. The fix is an acid-based reactive cleaner formulated for the specific stain (battery, fertilizer, or irrigation iron), applied to just the stain and dwell-timed correctly.

Wrong chemical, wrong dwell time, or sloppy application and you etch the concrete or stain the surrounding stone. I've spent fifteen years figuring out what works on what. Every job gets the right approach the first time.

Rust removal questions

Common questions for this service.

Most of it, almost always. Stains older than five years that have penetrated deep into porous concrete may not come up 100 percent. I'll tell you exactly what to expect at the quote. No surprises.

Not when applied right. The reactives I use are pH controlled and rinse neutralized. Wrong dwell time or wrong product is what etches concrete. That's why this isn't a DIY job.

Different chemistry. Limestone and travertine react badly to acid-based reactives. I use a specific stone-safe formulation. Tell me the surface at the quote and I'll plan the right approach.
